North City Bus Ltd was a company established by Wellington City Transport when it took over New Zealand Railways Road Services routes to Ngaio and Khandallah. Some of the Leyland Leopards had a North City Bus logo on them. When in 199? North City bus was the legal vehicle used for the takeover. This seemed to have been forgotten until late 2003 when suddenly the legal lettering on all Runciman buses was changed to North City Bus Ltd.
As Runciman Motors are part of the Stagecoach group these buses have not technically passed out of Stagecoach ownership. Most of these are in Stagecoach colours but a few are in Runciman's white with green sign-writing colours. Did any other peanuts operate in Stagecoach colours? I know some of the Rapid Red services were operated by Peanuts before the 1100 buses came to Wellington but I think these were operated by Runciman Motors.
Runciman Motors principally use their "peanuts" on school bus services and charters but two operate the Upper Hutt-Wellington commuter service each weekday.
