New Plymouth City Council frequently met the needs for their small fleet by adding a few buses onto an order by one of the major cities. New Plymouth 5 and 20 were almost identical to the Wellington Leopards. In 1992 they became Wellington 479 and 480 for use on the Ngaio/Khandallah services taken over from N.Z. Railway Road Services.
The same bus operating to Eastbourne as Wellington City Transport 479. When routes were first
tendered in 1991 WCT one the sunday Eastbourne services while Eastbourne Bus Co picked up some weekend Cityline routes.
